Detailing a bike is naturally a bit more intricate than detailing a car due to its complex design, with more tight spaces and hard-to-reach areas that require specialized tools—whether or not the bike has fairing. The wheels were especially coated with grime, so we started with our Imperial Wheel Wash, using a variety of wheel brushes to reach all the intricate areas of the wheel design, brakes, and other components, along with a dedicated wheel wash mitt. Next, we applied Iron Out fallout remover to eliminate any embedded brake dust and filings from the wheels.

Next, we focused on areas prone to oil and grease buildup, such as the engine, crank casing, and radiator. For this, we relied on our trusted engine degreaser, Eradicate, applied with a detailing brush to reach spots a mitt can’t access. With the bike prepped, we covered it in Avalanche Snow Foam, allowing it to dwell and lift loose debris. Each section was then gently agitated with our Hog Hair Brushes before being jet-washed clean. For the contact wash, we used the two-bucket method with Lather Car Shampoo and a Lambswool Wash Mitt, followed by a thorough rinse. While the bike was still wet, we applied Aqua Coat Hydrophobic Rinse Aid to instantly protect those hard-to-reach areas like under the fairings, wheels, and the underside of the bike.

The motorbike was then moved into one of our dedicated detailing bays for drying, using the Aqua Deluxe microfiber drying towel and Ultra Plush Microfiber Cloth, along with compressed air to reach intricate areas. Once dry, we applied ObliTARate Tar and Glue Remover to eliminate any bonded tar, chain lube, and rubber marks from boot scuffs and tire marbles picked up during Ruby’s regular track days. The textured plastic trims were treated with Dressle trim dressing, and the swing arm was polished with Mercury Metal Polish to restore its high-shine finish. Finally, the fairings, cowlings, and other painted surfaces were hand-polished with TRIPPLE car polish to deep-clean the paintwork, prepping it for the protective coating.

Ruby had covered the bike’s visor with stickers celebrating impressive track day achievements, but once removed, they left behind scratches and imperfections that needed attention. Using the Rupes Big Foot Mini, along with our One Step all-in-one polish compound and a medium-grade Auto Finesse Revitalise Pad No. 2, we carefully polished the visor to restore its glossy, like-new finish. With the polishing complete, the visor now had a flawless base, ideal for wax protection. We then applied a layer of Desire Hard Car Wax, providing long-lasting gloss and protection.
