First, attach your pad to the machine polisher. The easiest way to ensure it's centred is to place it on the backing pad and give it a quick spin by hand. If it wobbles, adjust it slightly and try again until it's balanced.
Pad lubrication is essential when starting with a dry pad. A light mist of Pad Prime will help lubricate the surface, preventing any scrubbing and ensuring smooth operation.
When using a machine, less is more. You don’t need to overload the pad—just four small blobs of your chosen product are enough to get started.
To keep the cord under control like a pro, drape it over your shoulder. The key rule is to always prevent the machine cord from making contact with your paint.
To ensure even product distribution across the panel, gently dab the pad three or four times over it.
When compounding, refining, or polishing, always start and stop the machine polisher with the pad in contact with the car. This prevents excess product from splattering, making clean-up quicker and easier.
