Removing Road Grime from Your Car

It's that time of year when you'll want to strip away the remnants of your pre-winter detail and cleanse your car of the unpleasant road contaminants it has accumulated, like salt and dirt—these are all factors that heighten the risk of wash marring.

If your car has accumulated dirt, we definitely don’t recommend a contact wash just yet. That’s where our Citrus Power Bug and Grime Remover comes in. Road grime is more than just dirt; it consists of a wide array of contaminants including unburnt fuel, additives, vanadium, iron, sulfur, oil, brake dust, tar, grease, bitumen, and cement dust, to name a few. If these are left untreated, rainwater can wash away the water-soluble components, leaving behind only the non-water-soluble residues, which can then become baked onto the surface by the sun.

Its powerful citrus-based formula effectively removes dirt while leaving behind stubborn contaminants like tar, which can be addressed later during the decontamination stage with a clay bar. Citrus Power’s robust detergent formula effortlessly tackles bug splatter and road grime, allowing you to achieve a thorough clean in just one application per wash.

Despite its potent cleaning capabilities, it’s remarkably gentle, with a pH level of 13, ensuring that it won’t strip away previously applied protections like sealants, waxes, or silica-based coatings. This makes it safe for use whenever you need it. It’s not only effective for tackling winter grime; it’s also an essential product for summer, especially when the front of your car becomes coated with dead bugs. It loosens these residues for easy washing, eliminating the need for any elbow grease you may have relied on in the past.

There's no need to dilute the formula, as it's specially formulated for safe use at ambient strength. Simply spray it generously onto all exterior surfaces that require extra attention before a contact wash. Let it dwell for up to three minutes, then rinse it off thoroughly.

You can also use it in conjunction with a detailing brush for intricate areas like badges or grilles. Just spray it generously and use the brush to agitate the surface and reach those tough spots, creating a mild lather. Once you're satisfied with the results, rinse it off and dry as usual.
