The Differences Between Finale & Glisten

At Auto Finesse, one question we hear a lot from our customers is, “What’s the difference between the Finale Quick Detailer and Glisten Spray Wax?” Let us break it down for you:

Both products are designed as "finishers" — the final touch in a detailing process — but each serves a unique purpose and provides a distinct finish.

Finale is a quick detailer with a water-based formula designed to give paintwork that final, polished look by eliminating water spots, towel residue, and any remaining product traces. It essentially perfects the hard work put into earlier detailing stages, giving the finish an extra boost. While it doesn’t provide long-term protection, it’s ideal as a quick final step. For example, if you’ve prepped your car for a show but need to drive it briefly before arrival, Finale will restore that showroom-ready finish. It's also safe to use on light surface dust, but avoid applying it on visible dirt or grit that could cause scratches.

Finale can also serve as a drying aid, making it easier to achieve a streak-free result. To use, simply spray a fine mist onto one section at a time, spread the product evenly with a plush microfibre towel, then fold the towel to a dry side and buff until clear.

Glisten is a premium spray wax that works as a finishing product with added durability, delivering up to 3-4 weeks of protection along with a brilliant high-gloss shine. Unlike Finale, which is strictly a final touch, Glisten offers a protective layer, making it perfect for topping up existing wax or sealants or for revitalising a vehicle’s previous wax finish. Think of Glisten as an additional top coat that enhances gloss and protection. Be sure to only apply Glisten to a clean car—never on any level of dirt—as it's designed for a spotless surface.

Glisten also excels at covering intricate areas that may be challenging to reach with traditional hard wax and applicators, ensuring complete coverage. To apply, start with a clean and dry car, mist Glisten lightly over half a panel at a time, spread it with a fresh microfibre towel, and buff to a glossy finish.
