Ultrace Wroclaw, Poland 2024

When it comes to the best events here in Europe, Ultrace is a tough one to beat. In fact, it’s easily one of our favourite gatherings and a show that we’ve been attending since the first, way back in 2014.

Over this decade the event formerly known as Raceism has got bigger and bigger and it now takes place at the Champions League stadium in Wroclaw, Poland. Featuring a whole host of invite-only cars from all corners of the globe, Ultrace is a mixture of a static show showcasing the absolute cream of the modified car world and a whole load of live motorsport action on their huge drift track in the grounds of this legendary venue.

Now our 2024 tour has already taken us to Croatia for XS CarNight, and Germany for both Tuning World Bodensee and Camber To Hell, but we’d be laying on some even more special surprises for this one. Our 1954 Chevy was invited to display on the podium, and we’d even be bringing along our own 3-car drift team, debuting a brand-new AF build along the way.

But first of course, it was a question of loading up a whole host of the world’s best detailing products from here at our European Distribution Centre, shipping out a transporter of AF projects from the UK, and the team all meeting up in Wroclaw to set up our T2 Bus pop-up store and prep a car or two…

The drifting is one of the parts of this show where everyone, including us at TeamAF, always goes all out. This year, as always, there was a host of Europe’s most serious competition motors out there ripping up the tarmac and destroying more than a few sets of tyres along the way.

But, as we said, we wanted to show our support for Ultrace this year with a couple of cool surprises, including unveiling a whole new Finesse Racing livery for our Datsun GX drift car. And bringing along our AF-sponsored CDK Tuning Drift BMW with a whole new-look and its driver Archie ‘The Crazy Drift Kid’ Harmer get the hammer down on the circuit.

But that’s not all, our brand-new 2JZ-powered LTO E36 also made its world debut. And it’s pretty hard to believe that this monster was put together in under a month before the event. What started off as a bit of a battered drift beater with a blown engine is now a full-on showcar sporting a Live To Offend Kit and a fully forged, 1100bhp Toyota lump… but that doesn’t mean that we wasn’t going to risk all by getting it out and laying down the rubber. This one is built to be used and abused. And we certainly did!

And, aside for all the tyre smoking action, what about as the static displays? Well, they were just as amazing as you’d expect for such a premium, invite-only event. With over 1300 cars, all personally vetted by the organisers, the standard of build was simply off the scale this year!

We’d love to show you them all of course, but you really have to be there to get the full Ultrace experience. But that said, here’s a cross-section of our absolute favourites…

As you can see there was quite the variety of cool cars on display around the show, so we were more than happy to show off our Project Stepside right in the middle. What we wasn’t expecting though, was for the organisers to give us one of the most coveted trophies in the car world, and place our Chevy Pickup in their prestigious Top 16. After winning the European Tuning Showdown at Bodensee just a few weeks ago, this one really is the icing on the cake.

All the cars that are invited to Ultrace are entered in this uber show and shine comp and judged by the organisers over the course of the weekend – no doubt a massive task. So, out of 1300 of the top builds in Europe, to be placed in their Top 16 is not only quite the honour for us, but a testament to our Team who made this project happen and keep it maintained between outings.

So, once again, we had an amazing time at this full-on weekender. It has to be said that this year was even better than ever.
