Autopolitur: Eine Anleitung
Let’s start by discussing what car polishes actually are. At this point, you’ve decided to move away from car wax and sealants and focus on using a polish. Car polishes are liquid solutions that contain fine abrasives designed to cut and refine the paint's clear coat. It's important to remember that polishes are not protective products, so you’ll still need to apply a sealant or wax afterwards. Essentially, polishes are mildly abrasive, helping to prepare the surface before adding any real protection. They can improve the appearance of light scratches by minimising them or even removing very fine marks altogether. There are different levels of abrasiveness depending on the polish, so if you’re dealing with deeper scratches, opt for a more abrasive formula. Simple as that!
It's essential to consider the type of paint on your car. If you have a light colour, such as light metallic or solid white, these shades typically lack depth. If you're aiming for a high-gloss finish, you'll want to finish the process with a sealant, as sealants generally reflect light more effectively.
If you have a mid-tone colour, such as metallic or pearlescent, you can safely finish the process with either a wax or a sealant—whichever you prefer. However, if your car has a solid colour, we recommend using our natural Carnauba wax for the best results.
Dark colours tend to be more reflective, which can be both a blessing and a curse. We all know how revealing Ultimate Dub's lights can be, right? Any paint flaws will be hard to hide. Both sealants and waxes can work, but keep in mind that a sealant is less forgiving than wax because it reflects light more effectively. With darker colours, it’s crucial to ensure your paintwork is in top condition during the polishing stage.
Tripple – our all-purpose, all-in-one car polish. This product is a true game-changer. It features pure Brazilian No. 1 Carnauba wax and is much quicker to apply than raw Carnauba wax. It effectively removes stubborn oxidation and surface contaminants, leaving a brilliant high-gloss finish. The formula contains fine abrasives to address surface blemishes as well. You can use it on its own or as a base for any of our Carnauba waxes.
Ultra Glaze – our non-abrasive paint glaze enriched with acrylic polymers, specifically formulated to minimise the appearance of fine swirl marks while enhancing the overall look of your paintwork. It’s particularly effective on darker colours, giving them a richer depth, and helps make the flecks in metallic paints stand out. You can apply it by hand or with a machine, including both dual-action and rotary tools.
We also offer a three-step system designed for use with a machine polisher (both dual action and orbital):
- Step One: Revitalise No:1 is a restoring compound that effectively removes deep swirls and revitalises tired paint affected by oxidation.
- Step Two: Revitalise No:2 is a polishing compound specifically formulated to address medium to light paint defects.
- Step Three: Revitalise No:3 is our paintwork refining compound, which perfects the finish and eliminates any hologram effects left by the machine polisher.
**Vision** is our glass polish. While it’s not specifically for paint, we wanted to mention it since we're discussing polishes. This high-quality product will make your windows look as good as your paintwork. It creates a liquid effect without streaks and fills in fine lines in the glass, enhancing clarity for tired-looking windows.
