FlatSix Royaume-Uni 2024

What with all the amazing events here in Europe over the summer, why would we make the trip over the Channel to the UK? To see the mighty FatSix show, that’s why. You see, there’s no surprises that being based in Germany we’re all for our European marques, and FlatSix is an absolute must for any fan of Stuttgart’s finest.

This premier Porsche-only event has a huge following nowadays, including from plenty of the top Porsche tuners, racers and enthusiasts here on the continent. It’s also one of the favourite outings of our UK team who, it has to be said, have been known to own a Porsche or three. In fact, they seem to love their premium European sportscars just as much as we do.

Now of course it doesn’t hurt that this event finds its home at one of the most prestigious circuits in all of Great Britain – the legendary Goodwood Motor Circuit. This historic track is one of those that appeals to everyone, from owners of the most pampered classics to some of the most expensive Porsche racecars you’ll see anywhere on the planet. That’s why they come from far and wide for FlatSix, and it’s the reason we’re more than happy to join our UK guys for a nice sunny Saturday in early July.

This year we were also joined on the journey by the guys at JP Performance here in Germany and their mentalist 964 Turbo. When they were looking for a collection of the best detailing products and a bit of help to make sure this one looked it’s best for the event there was only one name on the list - TeamAF. We’re always happy to help of course, no matter what you happen to drive, but it has to be said that this thing is epic!

Anyway, here’s what went on during this awesome day out at Goodwood…

It goes without saying that the track action is one of the key parts of this event, and not just for the spectators. After all, it’s not very often you get the chance to put your own car through its paces on such a legendary historic circuit. It’s also an opportunity that James, our MD, wasn’t going to miss out on.

Now, it has to be said that our UK project fleet has seen more than a couple of Porsches over the years, something of a testament to our love of the ultimate sportscar brand. One of the latest additions though is this mean, green modified 992 GTS, which is almost too much of a weapon to get the most of on the road. Don’t forget that the motorways in the UK are quite unlike the autobahn here in Germany – opening up your 911 can result in a serious lack of driving licence. On track though, you can really push a car like this, and let’s face it, Goodwood has a fine tradition of people pushing the limit. Handily the 911 is perhaps the ultimate autobahn stormer and track day hero in one package, too. So, it would have been rude not to…

As we said, they come from far and wide for this premier Porsche event, even from here in Europe. So, while you may think that that, just because they’re all happen to come from a certain single marque of German sportscar, you won’t see a huge variety, but you’d be wrong. In fact, FlatSix draws in just about every conceivable model from the Porsche stable and in just about every style. Thoroughbred racecars, standard classics, modified track day weapons and custom street cars, this show has it all. Here’s just a few that caught our eye…

The UK is a fair drive for many of us here in Europe but, as you can see, it's well worth the effort, especially when it's for a visit to Goodwood for FlatSix. Hopefully we'll see you all at the next one.
